Very pretty - did we actually do that sort of shit? So they launch one Torpedo, or is it Juan Torpedo, made in Spain is it?

As for the Refuel Astern they showed everything but that maneuver!

Why oh why did we wear those funny hats and gloves, nobody was in a gun which is what they were designed for, useless bits of kit! Even on a gun they weren't much use, I remember firing (right gun loader) a twin Bofors on the Bullock, in shorts and shirt, no tin 'ats either - that included the mid (who thought he was in charge) The GI would have had an 'eart attack if he'd have found out! but hell in the Med in summer it was too friggin hot to wear all that stuff!

\I thought your guns was muzzle loaders Mick? You poured the powder down the front, rammed it home, slapped in the wad and rammed the shot home, rammed in another wad (in case the gun was depressed below horizontal and the ball rolled out.........actually it was to seat it properly so it flew straight! Rammed your pricker down the touch hole to clear it then ran some fine powder (or in later days when Mick had become a Seaman Gunner) cocked and primed the flintlock firing mechanism, more reliable than a slow match! But by this time you'd run the gun out of the "'ole" in the side of the ship then when the order fire came number 1 of the gun pulled the lanyard and the whole thing went bang, lots of smoke and THAT SMELL, Gunpowder - Heaven!! and the bloody thing ran in again at great speed, heaven help any silly bloody landsman who got in the way of the carriage coming inboard! That'd make yer eyes water me handsome! if it hit 'e in the bits!
