so thats 71 days on the Eagle and that's it eh Mick?

Now lets see - me! Joined September 62 Ganges. Then '63 three months on Venus, all sea time. January 64 to January 66 on Brighton, all sea time (missed the Eagle draft - phew!). January 66 to April 66 Orion, non sea. April 66 to April 67 on Scarboro, all sea time (missed Mick again). 2's course April 67 to July 67 then July 67 (course finished 19 July, drafted 23) Tyne until October non sea! October 67 to September 69 on Bullock, sea time. September 69 to January 71, Centaur, supposedly non sea but went to sea for a week in April 70 - tow to Guzz from Pompey! January 71 to May 72 Yarmouth! Out and started REAL sea going! So thats er. . . about ten years with only three breaks for shore time January 66 to April 66, Courses don't count, July 67 to October 67 then September 69 to January 71 (and even then we went to sea! Sounds like an Arthur Ransom book) That's some 1 year 9 months shore time in ten years! 8 years 3 months in 9 years 3 months - initial training and trade training course do not count! And so HOW much did you actually accomplish Landsman Mick? (to give you your official title pre 1860). Now try to be honest Mick, you know like pretend you are not a Conservative!

So that's a year on the Striker, 2 on the Eagle and 2 on the Scarborough - 5 years total - half yer time at sea and half of it in shore bases. . . . . . OK so some of your shore time was spent living on ships - now if you count depot ships as sea time because they were tied to the wall I'll do the same - so that's 3 months Orion, 3 months Tyne and 1 year 3 months on the Centaur - total 1 year 9 months! Add that to the 8 years 3 months gives damn near ten (10) years SEA TIME out of 10!

Now about this fucking sea time YOU say you've done Mick. . . . . . .

IF you were in the RN at the time possibly, but I doubt it! Niether does diving into the pond outside the Plymouth Civic Building to pinch some pennies thrown in by holiday makers on blank week!
